All Grass Sports Surfaces supplies, installs and maintains acrylic (hard) and cushioned (soft) netball and basketball court surfaces. Basketball and netball played on acrylic surfaces has the advantage over traditional grass courts or asphalt surfaces for the following reasons:

  • An acrylic netball court surface will last 7-10 years before needing reapplication of the topcoat, so costs are lower.
  • Laid over a concrete or asphalt base, the acrylic surface extends the life of the base by preventing UV degradation and weathering.
  • The surface is not diminished by constant use and will maintain its playability and feel throughout.
  • Acrylic netball and basketball courts look great – they can be applied in up to ten colour combinations.
  • The acrylic surface requires almost no maintenance as it is easy to clean.
  • Unlike natural grass or asphalt netball and basketball courts, acrylic courts dry quickly after rain, allowing play to continue in all weather conditions.
  • Court temperature is cooler in hot weather compared to asphalt surfaces, improving player comfort levels.
  • Installing an acrylic surface over an existing base will eliminate trip situations and extend the life of the original base.

All Grass Sports Surfaces recommends Rebound Ace Sports’ Synpave acrylic surfacing product for outdoor basketball and netball courts, the same surface that is in use at the Victorian State Netball centre and North Harbor centre in New Zealand. The Rebound Ace Synpave surface is durable and provides good traction even after years of heavy use, helping to alleviate the joint injuries and fatigue which commonly occur when netball and basketball is played on bare hard surfaces.
